Made of sheepskin, fastened with brass lacing eyelets (traces of red colour remaining).
Stitched leather sole.
Alternating flat and round stitching.
An unusual and uncommon piece, for which several theories are plausible, including use by light cavalry such as hussars in the French army from the 17th to the 18th century; it may have been produced at a later date.
