A single-piece, riveted blade.

A sturdy blade with a broad cutting edge and a sharp point. A disc-shaped guard featuring an ergonomic grip on the cutting edge side.
Two wide, long tangs through which five nails still pass.
In the condition in which it was found.
Dating from the Hundred Years’ War.

A rare piece in collections. Among similar works that can be found in contemporary writings, we might mention the depiction of the Adoration of the Magi by Jean Fouquet in the *Heures d’Etienne Chevalier*, 1452–1461, Chantilly, Musée Condé.
An illumination depicting, in the lower left panel, archers armed with weapons similar to our own. In the upper left panel, a star with its rays pointing towards Charles VII illuminates a battle, attributed to the victory at Castillon over the English in 1453.
