In polychrome painted enamel on a slightly embossed oval copper plate. Inscriptions in gold paint: DIANE . DE . POITIERS and the monogram .L.L., in the style of Léonard Limosin, and an apocryphal date: . 1559 . The central plaque is set within a carved and gilded wooden frame decorated with masks, cut-out leatherwork and six enamelled plaques set into the frame.
Limoges, late 19th century.
