


A 17 cm cross-guarded sword, with a central thumb rest at the crossguard.
The blade is slightly curved, with a flat back, followed by a reverse edge and a carp’s tongue.
In the condition in which it was found.
Total length: 80 cm.
Late 15th to early 16th century.
The Kriegsmesser, a weapon closely associated with the image of the Germanic Landsknecht, was carried in southern Germany, Switzerland and northern Austria.
