“Sold new by Royal Elysées.”
The Type E shown here is a model from the 1.5 series, sold new in France by Royal Elysées. First registered in June 1966, it never left France.
In line with all European versions, it is fitted with the 4.2-litre engine with three carburettors. The engine produced 265 ch at the time, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The Jaguar is finished in the superb Opalescent Maroon colour and features a brown leather interior. The current owner purchased the car in 2001 whilst it was in the Tarn region.
He took great care to maintain it, and numerous invoices are included in the file. The engine was overhauled once. Following a period of inactivity, the E-Type underwent a major service in March 2022.
Today it is in magnificent original condition, with paint imperfections that lend it a certain charm. This patina, as we know, is inimitable.
