“Delivered new by Pozzi, with Lusso options and extremely rare luggage!”
- Produced between 1996 and 2001, the 550 Maranello is now unanimously recognised as one of the most desirable Ferraris of the modern era. With its naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V12 engine producing 485 ch, its six-speed manual gearbox and its front-engined grand tourer architecture, for many enthusiasts it embodies the last truly ‘analogue’ Ferrari V12.
- Ordered from Philippe Gardette, a highly regarded specialist in the Ferrari community in Clermont-Ferrand, and delivered new in France by Charles Pozzi in Levallois in 1998, this Maranello boasts a particularly unique provenance. Ordered new by its first owner, who travelled personally to Maranello to specify its configuration, it has now returned to his hands after passing through the hands of two close associates. Its second owner was notably Philippe Belou, a former engineer and close collaborator of Jean Rondeau at Le Mans. All the owners are fully identified and documented, with details of the mileage covered by each.
- Configured with remarkable taste, it combines the very elegant Grigio Titanio paintwork with a dark brown leather interior, Naturale 4480. It also features the two most prestigious options available in the Ferrari catalogue at the time: the 250 GT Lusso package and the complete set of bespoke luggage, both of which are now particularly sought-after by collectors. It is worth noting that it still has its original exhaust system, having resisted the trend for noisier exhausts, which often produce a resonance in the most commonly used rev range.
- Presented in a remarkable state of preservation, this 550 retains its original paintwork in its entirety; only the front bumper has been repainted at some point during its lifetime. The interior appears particularly well-preserved, and the original luggage set has recently had its interior trim restored, as the original trim had begun to deteriorate over time. Maintenance has always been carried out with the utmost care, as evidenced by its service history book and invoices dating back to the car’s origin. A major service was carried out in December 2024, including the replacement of the belts, the air-conditioning condenser and the flat floor panel.
- Few modern Ferraris can boast such a comprehensive history. This Maranello comes with its original purchase invoice, order form, and contemporary correspondence relating to its delivery, all its service books and manuals, its tool kit, its three sets of keys, and an impressive history of invoices detailing its maintenance from new. This exceptional level of traceability further enhances the appeal of this particular car. Having only just passed the 100,00 km mark, this 550 Maranello is a car for the discerning, deeply passionate enthusiast who isn’t afraid to put a few more kilometres on the clock!
