THE CLASH

Set of two promotional posters for The Clash’s ‘Out of Control’ tour, self-financed following their split with CBS, a series of concerts in London (Royal Festival Hall) on 8, 9, 10, 16 and 17 March 1984, during the ‘Cut the Crap’ period and following the band’s reformation without Mick Jones. 

On the first poster, a stylised punk/post-punk design: anarchic text in black, white, yellow and pink against a background of abstract imagery or a high-contrast photograph, with fragmented typography evoking the band’s chaos.
Dimensions: 50 x 75 cm. Preserved under glass, poster with minor signs of wear: central horizontal crease, micro-tears in the paper at the corners, patina on the paper, ‘4655’ written in the bottom left corner.

On the second poster, black-and-white promotion for the concert at the Ottawa Civic Centre.
Dimensions: 61 x 41 cm. Very good condition despite damage to the bottom of the frame.
