Jamie Reid, Holidays in the Sun, Sex Pistols, original poster, 1977
Original promotional poster for the Sex Pistols’ single ‘Holidays in the Sun’, their fourth and final single featuring Johnny Rotten, released in October 1977 on Virgin Records, two weeks before the album *Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols*.
Designed by Jamie Reid, whose work with the band produced iconic images such as the Sex Pistols logo and the cover of ‘God Save The Queen’, defining the punk era. Originally taken from an image in the book ‘Leaving The Twentieth Century: Situationist Revolutions’ (1974) on which Reid worked, it depicts a dense crowd with anarchic speech bubbles containing the lyrics.
Dimensions: 70 x 100 cm. Framed poster; this copy shows slight signs of handling, as well as a few tears at the edges.
