Between 2003 and 2009, Tim Simon acted as the artist’s main point of contact with certain fans and organisers. In a message addressed to the consignee, he details the items he can provide for a mini-exhibition dedicated to Jackson, organised on 3 March 2010 at the Saturn store in Éragny to mark the release of the This Is It DVD, specifying that this hat “belongs to Michael Jackson”, without having been worn on stage.
Signed by Michael Jackson at Neverland in 2002, this fedora is one of his personally autographed hats, distinct from his iconic stage hats (Motown 25, Bad or Dangerous tours). Its value lies in its direct and intimate connection to the artist, preserved in a private setting. The signature on the fedora has been authenticated by Paul Fraser, a recognised specialist, via Michael Gerster, and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity in English.
