Original programme for the World Rock 'n' Roll Festival, Palais des Sports, 24 February 1961.

A rare original programme from this festival, which can be described as historic, held on 24 February 1961 at the Palais des Sports in Paris. It was the first major rock ’n’ roll festival in France, headlined by Johnny Hallyday and Eddy Mitchell (Les Chaussettes Noires). This copy comes from a reporter for Le Figaro: it is extensively annotated in his own hand throughout the concert, these notes having been used to write his article at the time (see photos). Included is an issue of Jukebox Magazine covering the festival, in which page 60 refers to the Le Figaro article. Now recognised as a major milestone in French rock, the festival has been reissued on CD with the programme’s illustration on the cover
