An exceptional set of six silver gelatin photographic proofs (printing proofs) of the official promotional posters for the 3D short film *Captain EO*, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by George Lucas, starring Michael Jackson in the title role. Presented under protective film with setter’s marks and handwritten annotations “LIMINAIRE” and “POSEUR”, these large-format proofs (approx. 51 x 41 cm) capture the iconic visuals: Michael Jackson as the futuristic Captain EO surrounded by lightning bolts, alien creatures and the Supreme Leader.
Originating from the printing workshops of the 1980s, likely for colour approval prior to mass production for Disney/EPCOT, this rare set bears witness to the legendary collaboration between the King of Pop and Disney.
