Porsche 930 3.3 Turbo Cabriolet « BV5 » – 1989
French registration title
The turbocharged variant of the Porsche 911 Type 930 is among the most recognizable and coveted road-going Porsches of all time. Produced from 1975 to 1989, the 911 Turbo combined a KKK turbocharger with the 3.0-liter Carrera RSR engine, delivering significantly greater power and top speed than the naturally aspirated 911 Carrera. From 3,500 rpm, the turbo delivers 0.8 bar of boost, unleashing the engine’s full 300 hp!
The 911 Turbo Cabriolet, featuring an electrically operated soft top, was introduced for the 1987 model year. However, it wasn’t until 1989 that it received the G50 five-speed gearbox, previously introduced in the Carrera. Produced for just one year, it is a true rarity, with only a few hundred units made worldwide, less than 250 in Europe! Today, it stands as an icon of the 1980s, known for its fiery temperament, surprising versatility, and aggressive styling paired with build quality that rivaled the finest luxury cars of its era.
A former Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur showcar, this example boasts eight factory options in addition to the already well-appointed standard features, including air conditioning, heated and power seats, a six-speaker audio system, and extended leather on the dashboard and door panels. But what truly sets it apart is its unique Lilac leather interior (code 00311), which contrasts strikingly with its Satin Black Metallic paint (code 00011).
It remains, to this day, the only known 930 Turbo 3.3 with the G50 gearbox delivered new in this configuration.
According to its service booklet, which is still included in the file, the car was delivered new in Germany and serviced by the same dealership until 1995. In 1996, it was registered near Strasbourg, showing 69,650 km at the time. It changed hands three times before joining the current owner’s collection in July 2020 — a well-known French actor.
Matching Numbers and Matching Colors, this uniquely specified example has been meticulously maintained by its successive owners. Serviced by Porsche Centre Antibes in July 2023, its file includes invoices dating back to 2001 (at 77,142 km) and historic technical inspection reports. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a truly exceptional car, destined for the most discerning collectors!
