Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Coda Tronca – 1975
French registration title
Produced from 1966 to 1993, the Alfa Romeo Spider occupies a predominant place in the brand and in the history of small sporty convertibles. Born as the Duetto, Alfa Romeo's little roadster enjoyed an exceptional career, disappearing from the catalog only in 1993. With its beautiful Pininfarina bodywork, this Spider underwent several evolutions, the last of which, in 1990, was one of the most successful.
The 1969 Turin Motor Show saw the end of the “cuttlebone” Serie 1, with its hollowed-out sides, plunging hood and slender rear end, to make way for the Serie 2, distinguished by its truncated rear end, “coda tronca” in Italian, in application of the Kamm principle.
Although it disappeared for a time, in favor of the 1750 engine, the 1300 and 1600 reappeared in the catalog in 1972| the 1600 engine continued until the introduction of the 3rd Series in 1982.
These pages illustrate a Spider 1600, highly desirable in its Bianco hue. This car has been in the hands of its current owner for 10 years, has always been maintained to the highest standards and is in excellent overall condition. It also offers dynamic and very sound handling.
Let yourself be tempted by the old-fashioned charm of this Coda Tronca, which has taken part in a number of regularity rallies, including 6th place in the highly reputed Rallye des Princesses in 2024. Now it's your turn!
