Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 – 2001

French registration title

In 1990, Land Rover overhauled its range strategy and decided to rename its 90 and 110. Gone even was the Land Rover logo, and the firm’s near-utility 4x4 was to be called the Defender! The recipe remained the same, as did the mythical look, with only certain aspects evolving to bring the Defender into the modern era, particularly in terms of finish!
The most striking change was in the engine compartment, with the adoption of the new Tdi engines, which were more powerful, more torquey and consumed less fuel! In 1998, the TDIs were dropped in favour of the TD5, the turbocharged 2.5-litre 5-cylinder.
The car illustrated here underwent a complete, high-quality restoration a few years ago. The colour combination is extremely
elegant and evokes that used on the Heritage Edition, the last special edition before the new Defender goes on sale!
Today, the car is in very good overall condition, and runs very well. The paintwork is well preserved, and the leather and alcantara upholstery has a light patina that suits it perfectly. Our road test did not reveal any particular defects, and the 78,200 km indicated on the odometer are undoubtedly original!
So here’s your chance to buy a Heritage-styled Defender 90 for a much more attractive price!
