Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz - 1961 Chassis n° 61E047385 French registration The Cadillac Series 62 was produced from 1940 to 1964, undergoing several spectacular evolutions in line with American design trends, from the end of the streamline to the taut lines adorned with oversized fins characteristic of the 1960s. It's this ultimate iteration of the Cadillac Series 62 that interests us today, in its 1961 6-seat convertible version. American production is characterized by annual styling changes, and the 1961 vintage is distinguished by its new grille. The car illustrating these pages is one of the 1,450 Eldorado Biarritz models produced in 1961. It features Bristol Blue paintwork and matching upholstery, as well as the power steering, soft top and electric windows characteristic of this version. This estate car has not been used for some 8 years. The nearly 6.4-litre V8 is not blocked and will need to be restarted with all the usual precautions. We like the patina of the whole, and the superb blue-on-blue combination. Note an impact on the right-hand side, between the rear wing and the door (condition report on request, rod removed, in the trunk). Here's one of the jewels of American production in the 1960s, just waiting for some good care before regaining its lustre and taking to the road again, in cruising mode.
