The BMW 3 Series E30 Convertible appeared at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show and caused an immediate sensation: it was the first time the Bavarian firm had returned to the Convertible segment since the 1960s with the 1600. Over its seven-year career, the E30 Cabriolet was offered with four different engines: 318i, 320i, 325i and M3.
Our example is powered by the 170 bhp 6-cylinder engine of the 325i version, coupled to the manual gearbox. The current owner bought the car in 2007 from a collector in the French department of Vendée who had owned it since 1993! The car now has just over 155,000 km on the odometer, and is still accompanied by its warranty booklet and an interesting file of invoices.
Today, the car is in a fairly good state of preservation, but traces of use are visible on the bodywork (dents, scratches, etc.), and the electrical system for the soft top was taken out of service when it was replaced.
The engine, coupled with the manual gearbox, offers a level of driving comfort that is rare in cars of this generation, combining cruising and sporty driving to perfection. The car is in good working order, but a service will be recommended if you want to drive off with peace of mind, even though the last service was only carried out in May 2024. Please also note that the driver's side window mechanism no longer works.
This is an interesting purchase opportunity for an enthusiast who wants to drive this summer with his hair blowing in the wind!
