Porsche Boxster 2.5i – 1998

French registration title

In the early 1990s, Porsche was going through a serious financial crisis. Sales fell drastically, and in response, a team was set up under the direction of Wendelin Wiedeking, the new Porsche boss, to create an affordable roadster that would enable Porsche to double its sales volumes.
The 1996 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche stand, and the newborn car is there, inspired directly by a concept car presented 3 years ago. The lines are elegant, and the 2.5-litre flat-6 Roadster is an instant sensation, especially for its price... It's only half the cost of a 911!
Our example was delivered new in France in this very elegant colour combination of Artic Silver Metallic on a Havana leather interior. Options include ASR and a limited-slip differential, cruise control and, above all, the rare and pleasing Tiptronic gearbox!
Today, the car has 81,000 km on the odometer, and is in a rare state of preservation for this model. The paintwork is in very good condition, as is the upholstery and the rest of the interior. During our test drive, we were struck by how pleasant it is to drive this often overlooked gearbox!
Its service book is still there, along with a large file of invoices dating back to 2000! The only thing we noticed was a noise on start-up (video available on request). Here's a great opportunity to enter the world of Porsche for a very affordable price!
