Large in-8, XII-95 p., green morocco pl., smooth spine, gilt author and title, rich geometric mosaic decoration composed of multicolored morocco pieces separated by gilt fillets, on the spine and boards, red morocco lining decorated with a composition of mosaic pieces, different from that on the boards, bordered by a brown morocco listel, fillets and a gilt roulette, gilt roulette at the edges, untrimmed, half morocco overlapping folder, case [A. Palomino Olalla] (slight rubbing to spine of dust jacket).
Illustrated with a color frontispiece and 50 monochrome plates showing French bookbinding decor from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Limited edition of 220 copies: one of 50 reserved for the author (no. 215), which he offered to the Madrid bookbinder Antolin Palomino.
Olalla (1909-1995), with a fine autograph signed and dated 1955.
Palomino covered it with a remarkable original binding signed by himself.
