Bonjour tristesse. Paris, Lubineau, 1954. Two in-8 volumes, text in midnight-blue morocco, smooth spine with title stamped in superimposed white and orange letters, author and illustrator's names, boards and spines with continuous mosaic decoration, lining in orange morocco edge to edge with a motif on upper board. White morocco half-guards edged with orange morocco, illustrated cover and spine preserved, edges gilt on witnesses, black morocco folder with boards decorated with printed paper| the sequel volume in black morocco with boards decorated like the folder described, a copper mounted on the lower counterplate, all in a matching 2-compartment slipcase [Galvan].
Edition illustrated with 20 original etchings by Grau-Sala, including the cover and frontispiece. Issued in an edition of 595 numbered copies on Rives vellum: one of the top 25 (no. 12), containing a black state with remarks, a bistre state, an additional drypoint printed on silk, 6 rejected plates, an original drawing and an inked copperplate.
