In-12, polished orange chagrin, smooth spine, gilt author and title, mosaic profile of man in black calf on upper board, gilt head (slight rubbing).
First edition: copy numbered 1243 on vélin labeur.
The profile on the upper cover of the binding is identical to the one designed by Mario Prassinos for the NRF cartonnage.
Enriched with an original color drawing in pencil and pastel covering the false-title, showing a profile of a man, signed and dated "Novembre 1956" by Jean Cocteau, accompanied by the autograph note "Saint Jean Cap Ferret A-M".
Enclosed: an autograph letter signed by Jean Marais, [addressed to José Rossi], dated 31-12-[19]86, one page in-4, with autograph envelope, in which he thanks his correspondent for having brought this work to his attention and indicates that he does not wish to acquire it.
