Large volume in-4, black morocco, smooth muted spine, mosaic composition covering spine and boards, consisting of orange, blue and white fillets offering a portrait of Gargantua as a child, linings and endpapers in old pink suede, counterpads decorated with a composition of fine black mosaic pieces offering an Asian-inspired monstrous face, gilt head, untrimmed, couv. cover, red suede folder with mosaic title on spine and mosaic author's name on upper cover, black polished chagrin and matching suede slipcase (slight transfer of some figures| slight rubbing of slipcase).
Illustrated with numerous color lithographs, including 15 full-page, by painter Antoni Clavé (1913-2005).
Limited edition of 220 copies on Arches vellum: n° CXXVIII nominative for Charles Drevet.
