In-folio, ivory parchment, smooth spine bearing the names of author and illustrator and the title in full, gilt, cold decoration from a composition by the artist on the upper cover + 1 in-folio leaflet in publisher's folder, all in slipcase (very slight stains on spine, slight rubbing to slipcase).
Unique work illustrated by the sculptor Henri Georges Adam (1904-1967), entirely engraved including Nerval's text. The plates were produced between 1947 and 1950. After the Bordas publishing house abandoned the project, it was published posthumously. The typographed text, enclosed, forms a 19-page folio.
Limited edition of 200 copies on large BFK Rives vellum: one of 150 reserved for members, this one no. 107 for Maurice Lachard.
