Patent in favor of Antoine de LOMÉNIE (1560-1638).
[Son of a Protestant nobleman killed during the St. Bartholomew's Day, Loménie was attached from childhood to the King of Navarre, whom he served with zeal and talent, earning the confidence of the future Henri IV. Having ascended the throne in 1589, the latter soon appointed him secretary to his commands.
To compensate him for the expenses and costs incurred by Loménie in his service to the King, the latter granted him the benefit of the additional revenues generated by the merger of the justice of Monceau [near Avon] with that of Samois and Fontainebleau. In 1606, Loménie succeeded Martin Ruzé as Secretary of State].
The King wished to "recongnoistre les assiduz, continuelz et agreables services que luy a faictz et continue chascun jour le Sr de Loménie,
