Binz [probably Ursprung und Entwickelung der chemischen
Industrie (1910), Origin and Development of the Chemical Industry].
He notes, however, that the pathogens of malaria and syphilis are not bacteria ("Ich darf vielleicht darauf aufmerksam machen, daß Malaria-Syphilis-Erreger keine Bakterien sind") and points to the section on chemotherapy in his Introduction to the Doctrine of Infectious Disease Control, to be published by Aug. Hirschwald ("den Abschnitt meiner demnächst bei Aug. Hirschwald erscheinenden Einführung in die
Lehre von der Bekämpfung der Infektionskrankheiten, in welcher von der Chemotherapie die Rede ist").
