On his way back from Venice, he stopped for three days in Florence and once again convinced himself that no cultivated artist can do without knowing this city, which is a holy place for art.

Florence were to disappear in an earthquake, all that is true art would disappear. For him, there's something religious about visiting Florence every time. From there, he sent
Lifar 10 booklets containing works by the ten greatest masters: Raffaello, Botticelli, Mantegna, Piero della Francesca,
Donatello, Filippo Lippi, Francia, Masaccio, Michelangelo and Luini.
And he urged Lifar to study all these images very seriously...
He found Bronislava Fominitchna [NIJINSKA] in great shape.
She gave him news of Lapitsky, still on the alert in Paris and unable to obtain his visa for Switzerland...
He still doesn't know when the season will start - September 15 or October 1. He has received a very interesting offer from London. Boris [KOCHNO] is leading the negotiations...
He's waiting for Boris with his composer, Vladimir DUKELSKY. Auric and Picasso have already arrived...
