MONET Claude (1840-1926).
L.A.S. "Claude Monet", Giverny April 4, 1917, to André BARBIER| 3 1/2 pages in-8 addressed to him.
Giverny par Vernon Eure, in pencil.
He is embarrassed not to have replied to "your very kind letters, of which I remain very touched [...] but you must know that when I have to write, I become absolutely lazy, it's very bad, I admit, to always put off until tomorrow what one intends to do, you can guess well I think that the only preoccupation with the work I have undertaken is in fact the only cause [....] Along with this, I've been very bothered lately by frequent trips to Paris, which is throwing my whole life out of kilter". He had the pleasure of speaking with their friend Gustave GEFFROY, and would like "that when the fine weather finally comes, you will both agree to come and spend a good day at Giverny". He has received his photos and thanks him for them...
