He wrote to Georges Petit, "but has he thought of ordering the frames I told him about. I'll be very happy to be assured of this, I'm working hard and Rodin and I will be ready to open on the 21st.
Have you received any replies from amateurs [...] In a week or so I'll start bringing in paintings".
[On June 21 1889, the joint Monet-Rodin exhibition opened at the Galerie Georges Petit, featuring 36 works by the sculptor and 145 canvases by the painter].
