Roderich Huch (1880-1944) was a lawyer in Kleinwanzleben near Magdeburg.
Magdeburg. We can only give a brief overview of this rich correspondence between Kubin and his beloved Rudi. Most of the letters are written from Zwickledt.

Leopoldstrasse| they are the only people of their time still walking in the light ("wir beide fast auch die Einzigen die aus damaliger Zeit her noch im Lichte wandeln"). Then Kubin evokes his book Die andere Seite, for which Rudi holds the secret key (den
Geheimschlüssel), thanks to which every reader can continue to shape, live, write and invent this endless substance ("mit dem Besitz eines solchen vermag jeder Leser dann zu prüfen an dieser nie endenden Substanz weiter zu formen, leben, dichten, erfinden!"). He recommends the first edition [1909], not the Autobiography, which appeared in the volume Dämonen und
Nachtgesichte (1931)... - 14.IX. He suffers from this war. Münchhausengeschichten| he is working on the sketches| the work will be published in the spring: "Ist die Arbeit im zeitigen Frühjahr [...] fertig, dann fängt ja erst ihr Verlegerschicksal an"... - 2.V. He thanks his friend for his exceptionally authentic and sincere writing ("ungewöhnlich echt u. aufrichtig")... Etc.
