Large heart-shaped secret watch, in gold and entirely set with half-pearls
Case: heart-shaped on hinge, front and back set with half-pearls, opening in center for dial, push-button on pendant
Dial: enamel with Arabic numerals and stylized hands, square opening for key winding, apocryphal signature "Breguet à Paris".
Movement: mechanical with key winding, chased and pierced cockerel mounted on two feet, spiral balance, regulating disc, verge escapement, apocryphal signature on plate "Breguet à Paris".

It is interesting to note the large size of this watch. It is much larger than usual for this type of fancy watch, which was very fashionable in Switzerland in the late 18th century. Very few examples entirely set with half-pearls are known to date. Our secret watch shows real dexterity in the setting of the half-pearls, as well as in the arrangement of the highly unusual motifs.
