INVAR
Early 20th century
Gold keyless minute repeating pocket watch with Petite and Grande Sonnerie

Invar was one of the trade names used by Achille Hirsch in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The company was registered on November 8, 1902. This trademark was reserved for watches of the highest quality, such as our example, which is a minute repeater with Petite and Grande Sonnerie. The striking can be triggered on passage or on demand, depending on the position of the cursor on the edge, with a silent position. Our example, with this decoration on the edge, could be an order for the Hispanic market. It is similar to an example delivered to the Joya jeweler in Mexico City in 1895, sold at Christie's on December 16, 2011.
