Case: round on a hinge, back and cover entirely guilloché, inside case marked "DITI Grand Prix Paris 1900" numbered "39655", bowl signed with an autograph signature "O Gayaud".
Dial: white enamel with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, railroad minute track with 1/5th-second graduation, double hand in the center for the split-seconds function, two counters for the 60-minute and seconds indications, signed "Paul Ditisheim Fabricant La Chaux-de-Fonds".
Movement: mechanical with crown winding, anchor escapement, spiral balance, advance/delay adjustment racket, signature on chronograph bridge "Grand Prix Paris 1900".

Gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch with split seconds chronograph
Paul Ditisheim (1868-1945) is considered one of Switzerland's greatest watchmakers. He received his honorary diploma from the watchmaking school in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and remains renowned for his highly accurate chronometers. His watches won a large number of prizes in various chronometry competitions at the Observatory. Interestingly, he entered several watches in the Paris Grand Prix, like our example, which bears the words "Grand Prix Paris 1900" on the movement.
