Guanyin statue in cookie with green family enamels
The bodhisattva is shown seated in padmasana, wrapped in a wide robe, her head covered by a veil.
With a silver-plated base by Boin-Taburet (circa 1910) bearing a long inscription on one side and the signatures of representatives of foreign legations (including that of Pierre Jacquin de Margerie, Minister of France in China) on the other:
"Les représentants des puissances en Chine au Prince de Béarn. Secretary of the French Legation in Peking. In recognition of the intelligent and zealous services rendered by him to the heads of missions in his capacity as secretary to the diplomatic corps in 1910, 1911 and 1912. Peking, April 14, 1912".
