In-4, dark green morocco, spine with 4 raised bands, gilt title and illustrator's name, rich mosaic decoration on the 3 compartments and boards, with floral motifs in various shades of brown, ochre, red, with a crown of thorns in the center, morocco-edged spandrels decorated with a gilt frieze and 2 mosaic listels, black moiré satin lining and endpapers, gilt edges, case [Marius Michel] (rubs. light rubbing to spine and slipcase).
Edition illustrated with 76 original color lithographs by Alexandre Lunois and 77 woodcut borders by M. Thomas.
Limited edition of 210 copies: one of 60 (no. 56) on China paper with a second state in black of the lithographs and woodcuts.
This copy actually contains 3 suites: 2 in color on japon nacré and vellum, and one in black on Chine.
