Ce cochon de Morin. Watercolors by Lebègue. S.l., [circa 1910]. In-8, red morocco, 5-rib spine, gilt title, caissons edged with triple gilt fillet, boards edged with 5 gilt fillets, double gilt fillet at edges, morocco-edged spandrels adorned with 7 gilt fillets, gilt edges on witnesses, moiré cover with floral motif preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (very slight rubbing to spine, rubbing to edges of slipcase).
A very fine, unique work by Léon Lebègue (1863-930), in an elegant binding by Chambolle-Duru.
Entirely handwritten, it consists of [2] f. (false-title, title) and [17] leaves, written in r° and v° (except the v° of the last, which contains only a vignette). Each page is illustrated with one or more original ink and watercolor compositions, the text framed by a red fillet. Approximately 45 original drawings. The artist has signed the text on the title page.
