20 fables. Monaco, Jaspard, Polus &| Cie, 1961, then Paris, C. de Acevedo, 1966. 2 large folio volumes, leaves in filled covers and slipcases (slipcases a little rubbed with dull corners, one cover repaired with yellowed adhesive).
Illustrated with 40 color lithographs. For the first volume, the artists are: Brayer, Brianchon, Buffet, Caillard, Carzou, Chapelain-Midy, Desnoyer, Léonor Fini, Fontanarosa, Foujita, Goerg, de Nobili, Oudot, Picart le Doux, Planson, Terechkovitch, Touchagues, Vertes, Villon and Waroquier. For the second volume: Yves Alix, Calder, Cassandre, Cavaillès, Clavé, Marianne Clouzot, Paul Colin, Coutaud, Salvador Dali, H. David, Dunoyer de Segonzac, V. Hugo, F. Labisse, J. Lagrange, A. Marchand, Pignon, dom Robert, Rohner, Marc Saint-Saëns and Touchagues.
For the 1st volume: Limited edition of 299 copies and a few artists' copies: one of 80 on Arches pur fil (no. 58, 3rd paper after 20 japon nacré), containing two suites of all the illustrations, one on Johannot vellum, and one on Hollande, a silk print of a plate by Bernard Buffet, a decomposition of a drawing by Goerg, and the autograph signatures of the 20 painters on each of their hors-texte plates in the book (except the unsigned Vertès plate).
For the 2nd volume: Limited edition of 440 copies: one of 50 on pur fil d'Arches (no. 57, 2nd paper after 20 japon), containing two suites of all the illustrations, one on pur fil d'Arches (without the Rohner plate), one on pur fil de Lana, a breakdown of the Cassandre hors-texte, and the autograph signatures of 20 painters on their respective hors-texts.
