Famous collection of 50 color plates based on compositions by painter Alexandre Iacovleff (1887-1938), produced during André Citroën's Croisière noire across Africa, between October 1924 and June 1925. The text is also illustrated with sketches by the painter.
First edition printed in an edition of 1,020 numbered copies: one of 1,000 copies on Madagascar, and among these one of 250 hors commerce (no. 197).
