Beautiful proclamation by the president of the Jacobin Club. "The Société des amis de la Constitution has welcomed, with joy, the desire you have shown to unite with it. It is up to the citizens who resemble you to maintain and spread the principles of justice and equality on which the constitution won by the French people is based. As long as there are vices and prejudices, liberty will have enemies: but as long as there is a holy confederation of the friends of humanity and virtue, it will not be easy for them to oppress it"...
