An iconic model and an essential milestone in Porsche’s history, the 356, launched in 1948, quickly became the very definition of a sports car. More than 75,000 examples were produced until April 1965, when it was replaced by the no less legendary 911.
Declined into A, B and C series, with performance and styling evolutions at each stage, the 356 gradually lost the elegance and finesse that characterised the first vintages, now known as ‘pre-A’| the example that illustrates these pages is precisely one of them.
1955 was the last year in which pre-A cars were produced and marketed, and it is therefore a particularly interesting vintage, since it benefits from all the developments of this first generation, while retaining the purest styling, in particular the curved windscreen...
The 356 earned its spurs in the world’s finest and most selective events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia, the Tour de France Automobile and the Carrera Panamericana, where it shone through in terms of reliability and performance.
This pre-A 356, in a ‘race’ configuration to FIA GTS specifications (PTH to be renewed), is ready for the major historic events,
including the Tour Auto, The Gentlemen Challenge by Peter Auto and Le Mans Classic, which it has already competed in
successfully twice (2012 and 2014 editions) with its very favourable performance index.

“Two entries in the Le Mans Classic in 2010 and 2012 in Grid 2!”
