The XK range brought Jaguar into the ‘modern’ era of the 1950s: first the avant-garde XK 120, then the XK 140 and its forced Americanisation, before arriving at the XK 150 in 1957, which would go down in history as the swan song of this fabulous range.
XK 150s were powered by the eponymous 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.4 litres, then 3.8 litres, before becoming 4.2 litres shortly after the introduction of the E-Type| the engine in our example was changed at the time of restoration to a more modern and more powerful 4.2-litre unit.
Delivered new with the Borgwarner automatic gearbox, our car underwent a complete restoration fairly recently: the work carried out is very good, the paintwork is beautiful, as is the upholstery, but a few details will have to be sorted out by the next owner, such as the addition of rear-view mirrors, for example.
Numerous improvements were also made at the time of this restoration to put the car in ‘Fast-Road’ specification: in addition to the 4.2-litre 6-cylinder, a 5-speed gearbox, coopercraft brakes, an oil cooler and a ‘sport’ exhaust manifold are fitted!
If you’re a fan of beautiful British cars, this is the ideal companion for your sporty winter outings...
