Mercedes-Benz 280 SL (R107) – 1976

Luxembourg registration title
Sold without contrôle technique

In 1971, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the replacement of the SL Pagoda range: the new model was to bear the ‘R107’ identity
number, and combine the ultimate in comfort with the safety features that were becoming essential.
The 280 SL version heralded the return of the 6-cylinder engine, and was presented to the public in mid-1974 to meet the demands of a clientele prey to oil-related issues| our example was one of the first to be produced, out of a total production of more than 25,000 units with this engine alone.
Its current condition is the result of a high-quality restoration and storage in excellent conditions: the Light Ivory paintwork
(original according to the manufacturer’s plate) is well extended, the leathers are of very good quality, and the hard top is present and in good condition.
Added to this collection in 2011, our car would have covered just over 1,300 km since then| at the time of our test drive, the
car ran well, but a general overhaul of all the mechanical parts would certainly be desirable in order to get back on the road
with complete serenity.
Collectors, here’s an SL with an automatic gearbox that’s sure to be a delight to cruise around in...

A LUXEMBOURG COLLECTION
From an early age, the man behind this collection dreamt of classic cars. By dint of hard work, he and his wife built up a
prosperous business in the mid-1970s, enabling them to pursue their passion with vigour and, dare we say it, a certain bulimia.
How many rallies aboard an authentic Bugatti? How many family trips around the world at the wheel of his favourite Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Benz? Dozens...
In his own workshop, the restorations were taken to the extreme, with taste, discernment and, if I may say so, considerable
resources! They were lovingly refurbished from the chassis upwards, both mechanically and in terms of bodywork, with
particular attention to detail. Some are rarer than others, some have taken years to complete, and some of the more recent cars are first-hand or have very low mileage... they all have something exceptional about them. Stored in a location that would be the stuff of dreams for any collector who likes to live surrounded by his jewels, they have never been seen on the market... To all the bidders who come forward, rest assured of the extreme quality of the cars that are being offered for auction today.

Aguttes on Wheels
Note to buyers: We inform buyers that all the vehicles in this collection have rarely been used in recent years. Although they have been extensively restored and are in very good condition, they are being sold as is, without a roadworthiness
test, and should at least be serviced before being driven again.
