In 1954, BMW presented the 502 at the Geneva Motor Show, which was equipped with the first post-war German V8 engine| based on the 501, the 502 was intended to be more luxurious.
With its top speed of 165 km/h, it was the fastest German sedan!
In 1958, the range evolved, so the 501 became the 2600 and the 502 became the 2600 Luxus, and in 1962, the 2600 L saw its power increased to 110 hp| our example entered M.E.’s collection many years ago. Before being prepared to participate in historic rallies: it will notably participate in the 2000 Mile Trial in 2000.
Its bodywork is in satisfactory condition, repainted many years ago, we will note defects in places and some traces of corrosion, evidence of its use in historic rallies.
In view of its participation in various competitions, it has received two skai bucket seats, a tripmaster, a lamp and a fire extinguisher, the rest is entirely original and show a nice patina| we will note the presence of a sunroof and two spare wheels with chains.
As this car has not been driven in recent years, a simple restart of the mechanics will be required.
