The Volkswagen Iltis is a four-wheel-drive off-road vehicle designed by Audi at Volkswagen’s request| the type 183 is based on the Munga, of which it is an evolution, and was marketed from 1979 to 1988, and used by the German army from 1978.
It is powered by a 1,714 cc 4-cylinder petrol engine developing 75 hp, combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox| it also has a differential lock.
Agile on the road, it had good crossing capabilities, which won it the sympathy of the military| in total, around 10,000 units were produced by Volkswagen and around 6,000 by Bombardier under licence in Canada.
It won the 1980 Paris-Dakar Rally, taking 1st, 2nd and 4th place overall| originally from Germany, our car was imported into Luxembourg in 1998 and has recently undergone a superb restoration.
The bodywork has a beautiful black glittery paintwork finish, the upholstery has been completely redone and the dark green canvas is new| the engine has also been completely overhauled, and only a few details remain to be completed before you can enjoy this super off-roader.
