From the 1960s onwards, Mai Trung Thứ, who had been living in France for several decades, achieved a certain renown, particularly for his depictions of children. Gallery owner Jean-François Apesteguy contributed to the artist’s success, representing him almost exclusively. Through exhibitions at his gallery in Deauville and in partnership with others in Paris, he helps to promote the Vietnamese artist’s work. He created reproductions for commercial media, such as greeting cards and posters. The distribution of Mai Trung Thứ’s reproductions attracted a wider audience.
