1961 TRIUMPH TR3A
French historic registration title

The archetypal British roadster, the Triumph TR3 was an incredible success both in the UK and the USA| with its distinctive lines, round mouth, notched doors and powerful, torquey 4-cylinder engine, it still appeals to a large number of enthusiasts today thanks to its inimitable looks and respectable performance
Introduced in 1956, more than 13,300 examples were produced up to 1962, the series ending with the TR3B, a TR3 fitted with a TR4 engine| this is more or less the case with the car that illustrates these pages: a TR3A fitted with a TR4 CT-type engine, with a cubic capacity of 2,138 cc compared with 1,998 cc for the original TR3 engine
According to its British Motor Industry Heritage certificate, our example was delivered new in New York, with a Sebring White/black interior colour combination| restored in the Netherlands in the 2000s, with a new black/red interior colour combination, it was acquired by its French owner, an epicurean lover of fine things, in 2007
Regularly used and maintained, it now has a beautiful patina of use, with some cosmetic and bodywork defects (condition report available on request)| the interior has benefited from recent covers, but it seems that the original interior is still present underneath
The car successfully followed the Tour Auto 2023 (in the Press team), demonstrating its excellent mechanical health| please note that the 3rd gear jumps permanently and that the windscreen wipers are inoperative (one blade missing): the car is sold without MOT
