Circular incense (jinbako) box in hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and gold and silver kirigane lacquer, the lid decorated with a rooster and a frieze of butterflies with outstretched wings.
The reverse side features a hen with chicks.
The interior with four small boxes, one decorated with chrysanthemums, the other three with maple leaves, gnarled prunus trunks and waves on a full-moon background.
The interior in nashiji lacquer.
