Military memorandum in wrought iron pierced and finely chiseled with scrolls, foliage and heads of fantastic birds forming punctually the monogram of the king (double LL interlaced).
On each plate the spandrels are inlaid with yellow gold and decorated with military trophies. Each plate decorated in its center with a medallion inlaid with gold representing respectively Louis XIV on horseback besieging a city and on the other side Louis XIV receiving the keys of the city. The back decorated with a figure of Mars in gold inlay. The plates sealed by a drypoint silver writing stylus partially gilded.
Probably Parisian work from the second half of the 17th century

NOTE Inside the memorandum, a handwritten note written in English and dated 1822 specifies that this precious object would have belonged to Louis XIV and then would have been offered by Eugène de Beauharnais to the prefect of Mont-Blanc.
