"Napol", countersigned by Cambaceres, Prince Archchancellor of the Empire, Nantes August 11, 1808| vellum in-plano (38 x 51 cm) partly engraved with the header Napoleon by the Grace of God Emperor of the French, King of Italy, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine... painted coat of arms.
Letters of nobility of Christophe CHABROL-CROUSOL (1771 - 1836), magistrate, who was Minister of the Navy and Minister of Finance under the Restoration.
In accordance with the statute of March 1, 1808, determining "that the Members of the Legion of Honor would bear the title of Knight", a title transmissible to their descendants... "We have, by these presents signed by Our hand, authorized the Sieur Christophe Chabrol-Crousol, Master of the Requests, first president by interim of the Court of Appeal sitting in Orleans, [...] to say himself and qualify as Knight...The coat of arms: "on a fillet of silver in cross, cantoned on the first and fourth of azure with a chevron of gold, accompanied by three wheels of silver, two in chief one in point| on the second and third of azure with a vergette of gold charged with a lion rampant gules accompanied on the dexter and on the sinister by three bezans of gold in pale| champagne gules with the sign of the knights, broached on the two lower quarters| and for livery: blue, yellow and white", are painted in the upper left corner of the patent.
On the back, apostilles signed by Laplace, chancellor of the Senate, and Baron Dudon, secretary general of the Council of the Seal of Titles.
