Napoléon Ier (1769-1821)
2 L.S. "Bonaparte", Paris 21 ventôse and Malmaison 10 germinal [12 and 31 March 1802], to Consul CAMBACÉRÈS| the 1st letter is written by Bourrienne, the 2nd by Méneval| 1 page in-4 each, engraved vignettes with the name of Bonaparte Ist Consul of the Republic. [65 and 66]
Paris 21 ventose. He asks him to "take note of Bareuth's correspondence and to let me know the way one could go about judging Dantibes [the knight Grimaldi of Antibes] who in this correspondence and in the one printed two years ago bears the name
Blondel, as well as Ramel and the named Mazel. These three individuals are in the Temple. He sends him a state of the prisoners, and would like to know "the party that there would be to take for each one of them"...
Malmaison 10 germinal. He wants to see MARET with three advisers of State "to discuss a rather important project". He gives instructions for "the ceremony of the 28" (promulgation of the Concordat and celebration of the peace of Amiens): "it seems to me that it would be necessary that the prefect of police orders a general illumination"... [It is, it seems, the first letter dictated to MENEVAL, who will soon replace Bourrienne].
