"Bonaparte" (the 1st with the word "affectionately" autograph, Paris 4-27 vendemiaire X [26 September-19 October 1801], to Consul CAMBACÉRÈS| the letters are written by Bourrienne| 1 page and 2 half-pages in-4, engraved vignettes with the name of Bonaparte I Consul of the Republic (some foxing). [44, 45, 46] 4 vendemiaire. He desires "that you send for tomorrow morning the
Minister of the Navy [FORFAIT], to insinuate him to give his resignation.
You will assure him that I am satisfied with his zeal, his probity and his attachment to the Government. I wish to know the post which could be appropriate for him, wanting to do something which is pleasant for him"| he specifies that "the prefecture of the second district is vacant"... 18 vendemiaire [10 October]. He asks him to "press the report to the Council of State on the obstacles which the Minister of the police [FOUCHÉ] has experienced for the eliminations"... 27 vendemiaire.
