Bac Pho Than, known under the pseudonym of Dinh Van Dan, is a Vietnamese artist, accustomed to the lacquer technique. His works, filled with red, gold and green, depict landscapes in which lush flora and fauna dominate. The control of the medium and the mixture of warm colors, are not without recalling the masterpieces of the great lacquer masters. The seven lacquer panels presented here are a perfect illustration of the artist’s mastery of his themes, close to those of the masters of the Hanoi School of Fine Arts.
